Poppy Doll

My friend Lyric showed me this cute doll, and asked if I wanted to make one. Her's turned out so cute, and I couldn't wait to make one. I bought the pattern here, and finally got the motivation to make it yesterday. I was burnt out after making the doll, that I didn't get to the clothes yet. I used an unfinished shirred dress and sewed the two pieces together to make sleeves. Not the greatest, but it works. I also wish I had put darker hair on the doll, but I didn't have any. Daylynn already loves it, and has spent a lot of time holding, pushing her around and changing her diaper.

*Just a cute story. Before the doll had any clothes on, Daylynn kept saying, "dolly naked." She ran back to her room, and came back with one of her shirts for the doll. I just had to laugh! Daylynn is a month shy of being 2, and she cracks me up. I just love her!!

Eye Spy Bag

I also got this idea from Craft Pad. I used some leftover pink minky for the back, and my new favorite fabric (the green one) for the front. I made this 8x8, and used clear plastic for the front. This was fairly inexpensive, because a few friends and I searched our houses high and low for the items to put inside. Daylynn loves to play with this. She can find the snake and baby that are inside.

Dolls

I found these adorable dolls on one of my favorite sites Craft Pad. From there you can click on the link to Martha Stewart's site for the tutorial. I can't get the video to play on my computer, so you I just read the directions. They are pretty good, if you actually read them...ha. So you get to see my first doll where I thought I knew what I was doing, and my second doll that is so much better. My daughter loves these...even my first attempt.

Quiet Book

I can't take all the credit for this adorable quiet book. Yes, I sewed it, but my friend Lyric came up with all the cute ideas. I copied her's. Even copying her, our books turned out really different. I guess that is the fun of it all. Take ideas and run with them!
